Employee theft, fraud and other forms of misconduct are on the increase within the workplace and the COVID 19 crisis coupled with load shedding and rioting in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng have exacerbated an already serious security threat to businesses. An internal threat to a business is far worse than an external one since the perpetrator is often involved in day to day running of the organization.
Our mission is to provide “Strategic Risk Management” to our clients based on our honesty and integrity. Our objective is the provision of an effective ethics hot-line to help you combat crime and misconduct in the workplace thus preserving a strong culture ethics.
Our ethics hot-line service encourages employees to report wrongdoing in the workplace while remaining anonymous. The hotline is operated on a 24/7 basis and offers convenience to whistleblowers who can lodge a report at anytime.
Research conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners has shown that companies with hot lines detected 46% of fraud cases through a tip off. The same research showed that organizations without a hot line only detected 30% of fraud cases through tip offs.
The ACFE research also showed:
- Fraud was 50% smaller at organizations with hotlines compared to those without.
- Corruption (bribery) is most likely to be detected by tip offs.
Fraud and misconduct can affect all businesses big or small but in the case of a small business, research has shown that it takes longer on average to detect fraud. The danger is that by the time the crime is discovered it maybe too late, and the business could collapse.
